On April 22, Tallahassee — like communities around the world — will recognize Earth Day, a holiday founded in 1970 in the United States and regarded as the anniversary of the modern environmental movement.
Since that first celebration, Earth Day has gone global with more than a billion people marking the annual occasion as a day of action for our planet.
